The Harmonium Singers prefer to raise money for good causes, not spend it!  However there are times when a particular event or concert involves significant expenditure.

During the group's early years we had no expenses to meet; all our carol singing collections went directly to our chosen charities.  Now, singing throughout the year, the cost of our rehearsal venue and the purchase of music are funded from membership subscriptions.  When we are invited to sing at a particular venue, the organisers are responsible for any costs.  It is when we put on a concert of our own that we have to deal with extra expenditure, which reduces the proceeds of ticket sales.  As most of our concerts are for charity, this means less money for the chosen good cause.

Can you help?

It would be wonderful if we had a list of potential sponsors who would be willing to cover the cost (or part of the cost) of mounting an individual concert, thus allowing our chosen charity to be given more, it not all, of the ticket income.  If you would be willing to be contacted occasionally for this purpose please get in touch via the Contact page.  Recent large-scale concerts have cost between £400 and £1500, but smaller amounts are often enough.

Sponsorship of course means acknowledgement and/or branding on concert posters and programmes, and even free tickets depending on the amount given.  We are always happy to discuss requirements in a flexible way.  Please help us to help others, while enriching the cultural life of the area.

In 2009 (with support from Newbury Building Society and Test Valley Arts Foundation) and again in 2015 (with help from a Test Valley Borough Councillors Community Grant) were able to bring Linden Baroque Orchestra (pictured below) to Andover for concerts of music by baroque composers with period instruments.
